President leaves for Bangladesh for two-day visit

President Bidhyadevi Bhandari has left for a two-day visit to Bangladesh. President Bhandari left for Bangladesh on Monday morning on a green body A320 of Nepal Airlines, Nepali flag carrier.

Earlier, Vice President Nanda Kishore Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timalsina, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel and others bade farewell to President Bhandari in a very special room of Tribhuvan Airport.

Along with President Bhandari, Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali, officials from President's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries have 54 members in the visiting team.

During the visit, understandings will be reached between Nepal and Bangladesh in various fields. Similarly, discussions will also be held on connecting railways, transport and port facilities with Nepal, and the initiatives being taken by Bangladesh to purchase electricity from Nepal.

During the visit, President Bhandari is also scheduled to attend centenary birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Rahman of Bangladesh. President Bhandari will return Nepal coming Wednesday.
