Creative chief forced to quits after 'Olympig' insult: Tokyo Olympic

Tokyo Olympics' creative chief was forced to quit after being criticized for suggesting the female comedian to appear as an "Olympig", in the latest setback for the Games.

Ms. Watanabe is one of Japan's most famous comedians known for her celebrity impersonations and body positivity advocacy work.

Mr. Sasaki made a suggestion making "inappropriate" remarks about sexism involving plus-size entertainer Naomi Watanabe, later he apologized and admitted for his remarks which led to his resignation that came shortly after weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun reported his remarks.

According to Ms. Hashimoto gender equality is the top priority at the Games, adding 12 new female directors to the organizing committee's executive.
