At least 38 people have been killed when security forces opened fire on a protest rally in Myanmar. On Wednesday, security forces opened fire on a large number of protesters in various cities, BBC reported.
Save the Children, an international children's organization, said 14 and 17-year-olds were among those killed in Wednesday's protests. Another 19-year-old girl was also killed.
At least four people have been killed and at least 30 injured in protests in central Myanmar. More protesters were killed in Yangon, Mandalay and Minjin.
Military's violent lockdown has been condemned by international community. United Nations has called Wednesday's incident "bloody" since military took power. United Kingdom has called for a UN Security Council meeting on Friday, and United States has said it will take further action against Myanmar's military.
Violence between security forces and protesters has been on rise in recent days. Earlier, 18 people were killed in Sunday's violence.
