The 16th World Peace Prayer was held at The Lumbini

This is an annual program held at Great Lotus Stupa. Unlike annually, this year's program couldn't be held all the sessions due to Novel Coronavirus.

Despite unfavourable conditions, the Opening Ceremony was attended by Hon'ble guests and Ven. Monks and Nuns from Hongkong, China, Tibet, Thailand and Nepal. 

Prayers were done in various languages for world peace. Pali, Tibetan, Chinese enchantment was done. 


The prayer assembly begins at 09:30 A.m on Feb 15, 2021. About 50 monks and nuns participated in the 16th World Peace Prayers. 

The auspicious opening of World Peace Prayers concluded successfully followed by Lunch to all participants.


Lumbini's Great Lotus Stupa was constructed by the German Tara Foundation. The domed ceiling of the main prayer room is covered in Buddhist murals.

This stupa is not only religiously important but also carries history with it. The stupa was built under the guidance and supervision of two great Rinpoche’s.

The stupa is a beautiful combination of gold, wood and carvings. The roof of the stupa has the carving of a few Buddhist teachings that spread the message of non-violence and world peace.
