Nepal Army going to collect garbage from 5 different mountains in Clean Mountain Campaign

Nepal Army has stated that it will collect garbage from 5 different mountains in 2021 BS under Clean Mountain Campaign.

Speaking at a press conference at Army Headquarters on Thursday, Nepal Army said that it was going to collect 35 tonnes of garbage from base camps at Sagarmatha, Lhotse, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Pumori and Amadambalam and above.

Chief Assistant of Directorate of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, Himanshu Khadka, said that army would lead campaign in an integrated manner and would cooperate with various agencies including Nepal Tourism Department, Planning and Monitoring Division and Nepal Tourism Board.

Chief Assistant of Directorate of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, khadka said that campaign will start with handing over of banners on April 13 and will be handed over to non-polluting garbage recycling organizations on May 7, World Environment Day.

During the campaign, an awareness program will be conducted on the road to the respective mountains, said Khadka.

Safa Himal Abhiyan was started in 2019 BS. Nepal Army is confident that campaign will help mitigate the effects of climate change.
