Demonstration by human rights activists in front of Bir Hospital demanding Gangamaya's life

Gangamaya Adhikari of Gorkha Fujel, who has been struggling for long time demanding action against her son's killer, human rights activists staged a peaceful protest in front of Bir Hospital in Kathmandu on Tuesday demanding life protection.

Protestors staged a peaceful protest, saying Gangamaya’s health was in critical condition due to a three-week hunger strike.

Adhikari's 16-year-old son Krishna Prasad Adhikari was killed on June 7, 2006 when he came to Chitwan to visit his maternal grandparents.

Human rights activist Indra Aryal said that they had to launch 'Save Gangamaya' campaign to put pressure on the government saying that Gangamaya's health had deteriorated.

It has been 22 days since Gangamaya Adhikari went on a hunger strike for the twelfth time demanding action against her son's killer as well as her husband who was forced to die in a hunger strike.
