On Friday, the youths marched in Kathmandu in national dress and celebrated the day. They participated in the rally with the original slogan of "Our dignity, our self-esteem, our national dress, our identity". youths wearing Dhaka and Bhadgau topi, daura-suruwal, gunyu-choli marched with Nepali flag and bajagaja.
Rajananda Mandavya, Founder President of the National Heritage Preservation Foundation Nepal, said that the National Dress Day was celebrated to expose Nepal's culture, civilization and heritage to the world community as the original Nepali culture has been ruined by foreign culture in recent times.
The march organized by the National Heritage Preservation Foundation Nepal started from Maitighar Mandala and ended at Maitighar after reaching Nepal Arts Council. Nepali Dress Day has been celebrated on January 1 with the objective of preserving Nepali dress and culture.
