UN chief calls for destruction of chemical weapons

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the international community to end its use of chemical weapons. Antonio urged everyone on Monday to make world chemical-free. 

Publishing a message on the occasion of Chemical Weapons Victims' Memorial Day, Antonio claimed that its use was never, anywhere, under any pretext or under any circumstances. Antonio also reminded that use of chemical weapons violates international law.

"Use of chemical weapons cannot be justified in any way. We must discourage it and warn against its use," wrote Antonio. Antonio also stressed that use of chemical weapons should never be taken lightly. The UN chief made it clear that use of chemical weapons was unacceptable.

Antonio also drew the attention of all to moral responsibility of the world community towards the victims of chemical weapons. Antonio also expressed sympathy for the victims through the message.
