Cabinets commends President to dissolve Parliament

An emergency meeting of Council of Ministers held on Sunday morning has commend President Bidya Devi Bhandari to dissolve the Parliament. The dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party  peaked up favoring decision of dissolvement.

The meeting decided to send a proposal to President to dissolve the House of Representatives, said a minister close to NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Earlier, the Cabinet had issued an ordinance on the Constitutional Council on Tuesday without informing the ministers which led disputes in the ruling party.

The sudden move from PM Oli comes at a time when the majority of his party – the NCP — is preparing to exclude him from the premiership and the Chairmanship of the party.

Prachanda and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been pressurizing the Prime Minister to step down from the post of PM since last one year.

The intra-party dispute reached a new high after PM Oli last week abruptly issued an Ordinance with the provision allowing the Constitutional Council to make a decision with the support of the majority.

The CC Act, earlier, required the presence of four members – Prime Minister, leader of the main opposition party, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Chairman of the National Assemly to take a decision through agreement.

PM Oli, last Tuesday, unilaterally brought the ordinance, which was approved by President Bidya Devi Bhandari hurriedly.
