Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held a telephone conversation with newly elected US President Joe Biden. Congratulating Biden on his election as President of the United States, Modi said that he was always open and ready for cooperation.
In a congratulatory phone call on Tuesday, Modi said he wanted to work together to control the spread of corona virus, a global epidemic.
Modi also stressed the need to continue the strategic partnership and discussions to make India-US relations more effective, deeper and better.
I have telephoned and congratulated newly elected President of the United States, Joe Biden. During the phone conversation, there was a positive discussion about cooperation and strengthening mutual relations, Modi wrote on social network Twitter.
Prime Minister Modi also informed that brief talks were held on past agreements, coronavirus epidemic, climate change, Indo-Pacific region and others.
Modi also extended warm congratulations to Kamala Harris, Vice President. Indians are already expressing happiness at the grassroots level over the victory of Harris, an American citizen of Indian descent.
Modi also expressed confidence that his victory would make US-India relations and cooperation more comfortable and strong.
