22 political parties and organizations staged nationwide demonstrations against government

Twenty-two political parties and organizations, including Communist Party of Nepal (Masal) and CPN (Revolutionary Maoist), have staged nationwide demonstrations against government.

They have protested against government in various parts of country, including Kathmandu's Maiti Ghar. Protestors demanded repeal of MCC agreement, maintaining Nepal's ownership over territories of Limyadhura-Kalapani-Lipulek, Susta, Maheshpur, etc.

Similarly, CPN-Revolutionary Maoist leader Pari Thapa said that protest was staged to put pressure on government to provide minimum facilities including food, employment, free education and health care to unemployed and poor, and immediate payment of arrears to sugarcane farmers.

UDMF said MCC had been made clear by senior US officials and embassies that it was part of Indo-Pacific strategy and should be rescinded.
