Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chang-ocha will not resign

The prime minister has said he will not back down even if thousands of people take to the streets.

On Thursday, Thailand declared a state of emergency and decided to block gatherings of more than five people. Demonstrations are taking place demanding the removal of the Thai king and the resignation of prime minister.

Police have filed an emergency declaration, demonstrators detained for 30 days without permits are received. Prayuth has urged everyone to follow the rules.

The prime minister, who came to power in 2014, has been accused of rigging last year's election. Protesters have been demanding a new constitution. More than 40 protesters were arrested in Thailand last week, and more are being prepared for Friday's protest.
