Market bustling till the eighth day this year

Kathmandu Valley, which used to be deserted on the seventh day of Dashain last year, has seen a lot of people shopping in the market till the eighth day of this year.

On Saturday, on the eighth day of Dashain, when we reached the main business centers of Kathmandu Valley, there was a lot of activity in those places as compared to last year. Due to the risk of corona virus infection spreading around the world, number of people leaving valley this year is less than last year.

Crowds of people have been seen from the main business center of Kathmandu to the sidewalks. Number of people leaving Kathmandu Valley to celebrate Dashain this year is less than last year due to the risk of corona infection while traveling in public transport for a long time and government has also requested to celebrate Dashain in the same place. Meanwhile, traders have said that the number of customers buying goods is low even though the market is crowded even during Dashain.

As the major Nepali festival of Dashain approached, valley used to be deserted from the time of Fulpati when millions of people used to go to their home to celebrate Dashain. People used to go home district to celebrate Dashain after shopping before Fulpati. But this year, number of people leaving the valley is low due to the risk of corona infection.
