Hearing process of proposed ambassadors started

 

Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee has started the process of hearing ambassadors proposed by government for different countries.

A meeting of the committee held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday decided to call for a hearing on the proposed ambassadors to the United States, the United Kingdom and South Africa.

Proposed ambassador to the United States, Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada, proposed Ambassador to the UK, former Chief Secretary Lokdarshan Regmi and proposed Ambassador to South Africa, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Bishwakarma.

A complaint has been lodged against ambassadors, said committee chairman Laxman Lal Karna. Chairman of the committee Laxman Lal Karna informed that it has been decided to call a 10-day complaint for the hearing of ambassadors of the country proposed by the government.

The committee has a constitutional provision to give the proposed ambassadors 10 days to file a complaint. After that, complaint will be investigated and the proposed ambassadors will be heard.

There is a constitutional provision that the president will appoint the ambassadors only after the committee approves their names.
