Discounted shops targeting festival shoppers are to start operating from today. Government owned ‘Khadya Byawastha tatha Byapar Company Limited’ and Salt Trading Corporation are to operate such shops till Mangsir 7.
‘Khadya Company’ is to operate discounted shops at three different sales centers. The centers will be located at the existing Thapathali, RamShah Path, Nakkhu, Lagankhel and Suryabinayak sales counters. These kinds of shops will also be operated outside the valley depending on feasibility.
The cabinet meeting on Asoj 12 had decided to allow the above mentioned companies to operate discounted shops in five different locations. According to the decision both companies will also be allowed to sell goods that the other is selling too.
Goats and lambs to be brought to the Valley from three districts
It has also been decided to allow the companies to bring a thousand goats from Dang and Makwanpur and the same number of sheeps from Mustang.
The number was reduced this year expecting the demand to be less. They will be sold from Thapathali counter starting two days before Ghatasthapana.
