Government is going to implement clean feed in Nepal from Friday.
At a press conference held on Thursday to announce the decision of the cabinet meeting held on October 20, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung informed that clean feed would be implemented in foreign television channels broadcasting in Nepal from Friday.
Minister Gurung informed that legal and institutional preparations have been completed to implement Clean Feed from October 23. Minister Gurung said that the preparations have been completed as per the provisions of Advertising Regulation Act, 2076 BS.
Article 6 of the Act stipulates that advertisement-free content shall be broadcast on foreign channels broadcasting in Nepal and that dubbed content may not be used by Nepali channels while broadcasting foreign advertisements.
Minister Gurung informed that an advertisement board has been formed to implement Clean feed and its joint secretary Dilliraj Sharma has been appointed as its chairman.
Minister Gurung said that the board has already made institutional preparations for the monitoring and will continue monitoring from November 25.
Minister Gurung said that the organizations broadcasting foreign channels in Nepal have been informed about it and if there is no clean feed, action will be taken according to the law.
Similarly, the government is going to take a concessional loan of Rs 24 billion from World Bank Group's International Development Agency as budgetary assistance. Minister Gurung informed that the cabinet meeting held on October 20 decided to accept the concessional loan.
Similarly, Council of Ministers has decided to approve directive 2077 to allow productive industries to bring workers from India, China and other countries by completing the process specified in the labor law in case Nepali workers are not available, and to purchase and manage paddy at minimum support price.
Similarly, it has made 16 decisions including appointing Ashish Gajurel, Executive Director of Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee and approving Foreign Policy 2077 BS.
