Two killed, 12 injured in Afghanistan bomb blast

Bomb blast near Afghan capital, Kabul, has killed at least 40 people. A suicide bomber struck shortly after noon in the capital, Kabul, targeting Vice President Amarullah Saleh, said police.

At least two people were killed and 12 others were injured in the blast, said officials. Citing sources, Pazhok news agency said that nothing has happened to Vice President Saleh physically.

It is reported that the son of Vice President Saleh informed that nothing happened as his father was a little deceived.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of 2,000 people, according to Ebad Saleh, the vice president's son.

The bomber struck shortly after 7:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, said police. Police immediately rushed to the spot. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the incident and an investigation has been launched, said police.
