The game schedule of the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket in the UAE has been made public.
According to the schedule released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, defending champions Mumbai Indians will play Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural match on September 19.
Delhi Capitals, including Nepali national team leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, will play Kings XI Punjab in the second day's match. Coincidentally, for the first time, the final will not be played on Sunday.
On the other hand, the opening match between Mumbai and Chennai is going to be played for the fourth time in 13 seasons. Mumbai also holds the record for opening matches. Mumbai has played the opening match seven times.
In the three openings so far, Mumbai have won two and Chennai one. Mumbai has won the title four times and Chennai three times till the 12th edition.
