Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that government is ready to make necessary amendments during the implementation of constitution.
In a book titled 'A Treaty on the Constitution of Nepal' published by Kathmandu School of Law and South Asia Trust in Kathmandu on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said that while the constitution is being implemented properly, amendments can be made on the basis of justification.
PM Oli said that Nepal's constitution is a dynamic document that provides for more fundamental rights than the rest of the world. Prime Minister Oli stressed that the agenda of amending the constitution should not be brought by misleading anyone.
Prime Minister Oli said that people's elected Constituent Assembly had promulgated the new constitution after a long period of change and struggle by people.
Urging to understand socialism as a system of social justice, equality and participation of all in achievement, Prime Minister Oli said that such a society would have openness, security, rule of law and justice.
On the occasion, Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said that the constitution empowered local government to increase the capacity of those levels and build an efficient administration that could support them at all levels.
The book is based on working papers and presentations presented at 2018 International Conference on the Constitution of Nepal. Published in English, 640-page book has been edited by constitutionalist Bipin Adhikari.
