Central government could not be responsible for controlling corona: Madan Sundar

Madan Sundar Shrestha, secretary of the Upatyaka Municipality Mayor's Forum, has accused the central government of failing to take responsibility for controlling corona in Valley. In an interview organized by Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur on Sunday, Shrestha said that half of the infected people in the country were in Kathmandu Valley due to the negligence of the government.

Stating that there should be no logging in the valley now, Shrestha mentioned that the area of active infection should be identified and a ban should be imposed for a different period. Shrestha said that the epidemic had spread in Kathmandu Valley when the injunctions of Chief District Officers of three districts were limited to paper. Shrestha also accused that number of infected people has increased due to ineffective contact tracing.

In a different context, Shrestha opined that Upatyaka Development Authority has fallen into the financial clutches of certain people and Upatyaka Municipality has been raising the voice of disintegration.
