Jay kishore Shah (JK), a resident of Sarlahi, has been arrested for killing a couple in Sitapaila, Kathmandu 14 years ago.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Shah, 34, from Banke on July 12. The arrested Shah has been made public by the bureau at a press conference on Monday.
Natikaji Subedi, 45, and his wife Sanu Subedi, who were operating a timber mill in Sitapaila, were killed. Jay Kishor Shah has been arrested from the Nepal-India border area in Banke.
Another accused involved in the murder, Pratap Rana of Banke, is still absconding, said DIG Sahakul Thapa of the Central Bureau of Investigation. DIG Thapa said that both the culprits had reached Lucknow, India after the murder and after staying there for two years, Rana had gone elsewhere.
Chief Thapa informed that Shah has been living in India with an Indian Aadhaar card under the name of Jay Sharma. Both the accused are workers of the same timber mill.
After an argument with the mill operator, Shah stabbed the Subedi couple to death on the night of December 6, 2008. Shah was 15 years old at the time of the incident. Police said that both the culprits had reached Lucknow, India after the murder.
After living together for two years, Rana moved on. Shah had been living in India with an Indian Aadhaar card in the name of Jai Sharma.
