A mother-daughter pair has died when a landslide buried the house of Batuli Nepali of Sakineki in Bangla Chuli Gaunpalika-5 of Dang district. The house was buried by the landslide while they were sleeping at 3 am on Wednesday.
Batuli Nepali, 24, and his daughter Ayushma, 2, died when their house was buried, said Bhakta Bahadur Wali, chairman of Bangalachuli village. Three of the five members of the family have been rescued safely.
Locals rushed to the rescue after learning of the landslide. Village chairman Wali said that other houses were also at high risk of landslides due to the rain.
