District Administration Office, Kathmandu has sent receipts’ bundle to the Metropolitan Police to be used to fine the public hundred rupees if they are found not wearing masks.
The fine has to be paid on the spot. This decision was taken after people violated the advice by the government to wear masks while in a public place.
Clause 3 of the Infectious Disease Law 2020 has the provision of fining hundred rupees and/or jailing for one month for violation of the law. There is also a provision of extending the punishment for any obstruction upto six months in jail and/or six hundred rupees fine.
