Additional financial help to fight against Corona from the UK to Nepal

The UK Government has announced some more additional financial assistance to fight against the growing corona infection in Nepal.

The UK government has provided the assistance through the Department for International Development (DFID). DFID has raised 8.2 million for the reduction and treatment of corona infections to 10 million.

According to the Nepali embassy in London, DFID, which provides regular assistance every year, has provided more assistance this time as during the earthquake. Nepal and the United Kingdom have had diplomatic relations for 205 years.

The embassy expected more assistance for the Corona pandemic. Embassy spokesperson Sharad Raj Aran said that additional financial assistance has been received and the organization including Gorkha Welfare Trust is also providing necessary assistance to the Gurkha soldiers here.

For the additional financial assistance announced now, DFID has allocated a lump sum of 100 million to some developing countries, including Nepal. DFID has so far disbursed 844 million, including current assistance, to help prevent corona worldwide.
