Strict checks at the border
Police have tightened the checkpoints at the border with the government's decision to extend the lockdown that has been in force across the country since March 25.
Especially at the entry points of Kathmandu Valley, more tightening has been done. The checkpoints have been tightened as the number of vehicles and people entering Kathmandu has increased.
Police said they will strictly follow the government's directive to tighten the roadblocks.
Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel said that all vehicles entering Kathmandu without work have been returned.
He reached Nagdhunga while inspecting various checkpoints. He said that if any passenger was seen in the food truck, he was sent back.
He said that only the vehicles needed to make the life of the people of Kathmandu comfortable are allowed to enter and other vehicles are returned.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Janak Raj Dahal, Metropolitan Traffic Police Chief Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal, Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force also monitored the Mudkhu, Nagdhunga, Sankhu, Jagati and Bhimdhunga checkpoints entering the Kathmandu Valley.
