Nepal Student Union submits memorandum regarding border encroachment
Nepal Student Union has submitted a memorandum at all the 77 District Administration Offices of the country on Tuesday protesting the encroachment of Nepali land in areas including Lipulek by India.
It said that the memorandum included demands for halting road construction in Lipulek by India, dissolution of the 2015 Indo-China agreement and expression of dissatisfaction against the police for manhandling Nepal Student Union members during protests.
According to the acting president of NSU, Jiwan Shrestha, the memorandum was submitted to the District Administration Office in Kathmandu.
He expressed dissatisfaction that the government was unaware of boundary encroachment and requested it to give attention to the matter.
Similarly, student leader Prem Bahadur Shahi said that the memorandum was submitted as the initial process and that protests would grow if the government didn't take border protection seriously.
Protests have been staged across the country against India inaugurating a road connection to Mansarobar through Nepal’s territory.
