In Karnali, it is more difficult to fight hunger than disease

As it is 'more difficult to fight hunger than disease' in Karnali Pradesh, the campaign to keep the cultivable land in the state barren has been started from Thursday.

Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has launched the campaign on the occasion of Labor Day.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the campaign, Chief Minister Shahi said that an environment would be created for self-employment of as many unemployed youth as possible by making good use of the cultivable land by giving it to others.

Stating that there has been a decline in agricultural production in Karnali, he said that emphasis should be laid on agricultural production to achieve economic growth.

Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Vimala KC, informed that the campaign is being launched with the objective of making better use of barren land and making the youth self-employed.

Although the campaign to make better use of barren land was started from Dailekh by collective farming in 200 ropanis, the official inauguration of the campaign was held on the occasion of Labor Day on Thursday.
