Winner of the first edition of the Lalitpur Mayor's Cup women's cricket tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 300,000.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Nepal Cricket Association CAN said in a press conference on Sunday that the winner of the competition will get Rs 300,000. Similarly, the runner-up will get Rs 150,000, according to CAN.
The best player of tournament will get Rs 25,000 while the best bowler and batsman will get Rs 15,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Player of the match of each game will get 3,000. Competition will be held at TU Cricket Ground from April 3 to 10. There will be five teams participating in the competition.
One of the participating teams will be Lalitpur Mayors-11. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan said that city has supported cricket as well as football.
CAN secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel said it was a pleasure for the municipality to support cricket. CAN is going to organize Mayor's Cup women's cricket in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
Lalitpur Municipal Corporation will provide Rs 2 million to CAN for organizing the competition.
