Sports journalist Kamal Khatri has been awarded Sports Journalism Award. Ministry of Youth and Sports on Sunday presented Sports Journalism Award to sports journalist Khatri.
Khatri received Rs 50,000 in cash along with a certificate. Other eight sports journalists have received sports journalism promotion awards. On women's side, Muna Karki received Sports Journalism Encouragement Award.
Himal Kharel of State-1, Ranjan Kumar Bhandari of State-2, Anil Malla Thakuri of Bagmati and Madhav Prasad Aryal of Lumbini received Sports Journalism Encouragement Award.
Similarly, Muktibabu Regmi from Lumbini, Bhupesh Upadhyay from Karnali and Sitaram Ojha from Far West have received Sports Journalism Encouragement Award.
Along with the incentive award, they each received Rs 25,000. While presenting award, Sports Minister Dawa Lama said that the role of journalists was indispensable for the development of sports sector. Ministry had announced Sports Journalism Award on February 1.
