President Bidhyadevi Bhandari has said that business sector should play a special role in realizing this vision as prosperity can be achieved through economic development.
Speaking at a special function marking 70th anniversary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce held at Shital Nibas on Monday, President Bhandari said that an important foundation has been laid for economic development and expansion of trade and business of the country.
President Bhandari said that the role of chamber was more important in the context of country's commitment to reduce trade deficit by making country self-reliant by increasing industrial production.
President lauded the role played by Chamber in providing relief and rehabilitation to the people affected by natural calamities such as epidemics, floods, landslides and Covid-19 under its corporate social responsibility.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce has published a book commemorating its 70 years of history. Likewise, President Bhandari honored former presidents who have led the organization for 70 years. Families and descendants of late presidents were honored.
