Nepal Police Club has won the title of the first edition of Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup One-Day Men's Cricket Tournament.
In the final held on Saturday, another departmental team defeated APF Club by 8 wickets to become Police Champion. Police completed the target of 106 runs given by APF at TU Cricket Ground by losing only 2 wickets in 24 overs.
APF, which had won the toss and elected to bat first, was bowled out for 105 in 29 overs with four balls to spare. Along with the title, police has received Rs 500,000.
Runner-up APF has paid Rs 300,000. Dipendra Singh Airy of Nepal Police Club has been declared the best player in the competition.
Dipendra, who excelled in awarding the title to Police Club, has been selected as the best. Dipendra became the best player of the tournament and received Rs 50,000. Similarly, Binod Bhandari of Tribhuvan Army Club was selected as the best batsman. Aariyo Poudel of Bagmati was selected as the best bowler.
The best batsmen and bowlers have received Rs 25,000 each.
