First edition of Lalitpur Mayor's Cup women's cricket tournament is to be organized.
Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) is organizing Mayor's Cup Women's Cricket in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
CAN has signed an agreement with Lalitpur Metropolitan City on Tuesday to organize competition. Along with the agreement, Lalitpur Metropolitan City will provide Rs 2 million to CAN for competition.
Chief of Lalitpur Municipal Corporation Chiribabu Maharjan said that cooperation was aimed at supporting promotion and development of women cricketers.
CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand said that there was a lack of support in Nepali cricket and thanked Lalitpur for its support.
There will be five teams participating in the competition. One of the participating teams will be Lalitpur Mayors-11. Round robin competition will be in T-20 format. Competition to be held at TU cricket ground will be held in Chaitra.
