The Netherlands has suspended use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to overcome side effects seen in vaccinated people in EU and UK.
There had been 15 events of deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) and 22 events of pulmonary embolism reported among those vaccinated, observing the result Netherland has suspended AstraZeneca as a precautionary step from the Dutch government.
This is the second time AstraZeneca has been suspended earlier the Republic of Ireland made a similar decision over reports of blood clotting events in adults in Norway.
Many countries including Denmark, Norway, Bulgaria, Iceland and Thailand have halted use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
After the Sunday’s decision made by Dutch Health Minister Hugo de Jonge Dutch vaccination programme will be delayed but authorities informed 12 million doses of AstraZeneca had been pre-ordered, and nearly 300,000 jabs is scheduled within the next two weeks.
