Tribhuvan Army Club has clinched its seventh victory in ongoing National Women's League Football in the capital.
Army clinched its seventh victory in the league with a 7-0 win over Biratnagar Metropolitan City on Thursday. Sharmila Thapa and Vimala BK scored 2-2 to give victory to Army at ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
Similarly, Sapna Lama, Vimala Chaudhary and Rashmi Ghising scored one goal each. With the victory, Army has kept up the pressure on top-ranked APF.
Second place Army has added 22 points in 9 games. APF has 24 points. Biratnagar is in the fifth position with 10 points.
In another match played on Thursday, Waling Municipality of Syangja won easily. Waling defeated Chaudandigadhi Municipality of Udayapur 7-1 in a match played at ANFA Complex.
Cameroon's Matthew Ruth scored five goals, including a hat-trick, in Walling's victory. Cameroon's Tota Ornela Noelli scored two goals. Anjana Thulung of Chaudandi returned a goal.
This is Walling's fourth win in the league. With the win, Walling has added 18 points in 9 games.
Walling is third in the league. This is the ninth consecutive defeat of Chaudandi. Chaudandi without points is at the bottom.
