Kind beloved father of Kyabje Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche passed away on 21st February 2021, early morning at 2:57am.
Rinpoche’s father entered thugdam at his residence in Paro, Bhutan. Yab Sangye Lekpa, fondly called Jojo, had entered and still remains in the rare spiritual meditative state of Thukdam.
Nyenpa Rinpoche was born to Sangye Lekpa and the Karma Tshewang Choden, who resided at Guru Rinpoche’s temple, the Tiger Nest Pharo Tagtsang in Bhutan.
Sangye Lekpa, a resident of Bhutan and father of Kyabje Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche, had fallen ill a few months ago.
Due to his old age illness got heavy on him leading it to cause of his death. The late father was always engaged in Dharma practice. He was a devout practitioner of peaceful Guru Padmasambhava and wrathful Guru Dorje Drolö.
At this time of pandemic and strict travel restrictions rinpoche had not been able to be physically close to him.
With the information that Jojo’s health had deteriorated, Rinpoche immediately left Nepal. Travelling via road he had reached at the Indo-Bhutan border a few days back.
Following the International Health Regulations, Rinpoche had to remain in quarantine. During his time in quarantine Sangye Lekpa passed away and entered thukdam.
His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa and His Eminence Chamgon Tai Situ Rinpoche had sent their console to Sangey Nyima Rinpoche and family. Message also ensured that special prayers will be made in the name of the late father.
