Yesterday, on the fifth lunar day of the Month of Miracles, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and Phakchok Rinpoche conducted the concluding ceremony for three-year retreatants at Asura Cave.
Seven monks from Ka-nying Shedrub Ling have completed their intensive three years of meditation practice.
Asura Cave is the holy site of accomplishment of Guru Rinpoche. Late Tulku Urgen Rinpoche had established Pema Osel Ling aka Asura Cave Retreat Center.
Here, many long-term and short term retreats are scheduled. Not only monks and nuns, but many non-monastics have also been practising in this retreat place.
This was the 10th batch of Three Year three-month-long retreat since the time of establishment.
Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche spoke of the importance of Dharma practice and rejoiced in genuine dharma practitioners, dedicating the roots of virtue to all sentient beings.
There is great importance in Tibetan Buddhism of this kind of retreat. After completing these training, they are usually bestowed the title of Lama which is a qualified teacher.
