Government has vaccinated about 429,000 people under the first phase of vaccination campaign against Covid-19.
Dr. Dipendra Man Singh, Director General of the Department of Health Services at Ministry of Health and Population, informed that 429,705 people have been vaccinated twice under the first phase of the campaign.
In the first phase, one million doses of Covishild vaccine, a grant received from Government of India, were given to priority persons. Ministry had vaccinated the first priority persons from January 14 to 24 in the first phase and from February 2 to 10 in the second phase.
Ministry said that one lakh 89 thousand 345 people were vaccinated in the first phase and two lakh 40 thousand 360 people were vaccinated in the second phase.
According to him, 85.65 percent achievement of the first campaign has been achieved. Ministry had planned to vaccinate 507,606 people in the first campaign.
Ministry said that 1.4 percent of total population of Nepal has been vaccinated. In the first phase, vaccination was provided from 189 vaccination centers and in the second phase, 222 vaccination centers were provided.
Ministry has been providing vaccinations to senior citizens above 55 years of age under the second phase of the vaccination campaign since March 7. One million vaccines have already arrived in Nepal from India for vaccination campaign.
