Garchen Buddhist Institute is organizing a week-long winter event program. This year's winter event will be held from December 28 January 3rd.
Two main events of this year are Namgyalma Long Life Offering for H.E. Garchen Rinpoche & Tsewang Dzinpa Empowerment and Teachings. Rinpoche resides in Arizona for this event and anyone can join the live stream via YouTube Channel.
Since this year is the return of His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche’s birth year, a special long-life ceremony is being conducted. Therefore, Gargon Lamas will lead the disciples of the international community to accumulate 100,000 Namgyalma dharani mantras for five days.
From December 28th to January 1st, the Gargon Lamas lead the Namgyalma practice and mantra recitation. Garchen Rinpoche bestowed the Tsewang Dzinpa Empowerment and is giving the teachings every afternoon.
H.E. Garchen Rinpoche has chosen to bestow the Tsewang Dzinpa Empowerment and six days of teachings. These teachings come from the Yang Zab, a Drikung Kagyu Dzogchen terma. Rinpoche has rarely given this empowerment.
This year he will transmit entire commentary as well. The long-life ceremony was held on the morning of January 2nd. The Gargon Lamas will gather to perform the Tenshuk ceremony for H.E. Garchen Rinpoche.
This ritual is conducted for life-force to remain firm, and for teachers enlightened activities to unceasingly benefit beings. Commentary on Tsewang Dzinpa will continue until the morning of January 3rd.
Rinpoche said that a long-life ceremony is rooted in a strong Samaya between the teacher and his disciples. Our prayers made with strong samaya connection would bring fruition as a result.
