Minister for Education Krishna Gopal Shrestha has said that they should focus on the education system to pace up development and self-esteem of the country.
He said this at a program organized after his reinstatement at Singha Durbar on Sunday. Citing the examples of Japan, Germany, UK, China, South Korea.
Minister Shrestha said that the quality of education would be the first condition in the development and progress of any country and an environment should be created to keep meritorious students and manpower in the country.
Minister Shrestha said that he would work honestly with the long-term plan for the development of science and technology friendly education of the 21st century and that it was necessary with the staff.
Promising to give priority to the interest of the country and the people even though he is a leader of the CPN (Maoist), he directed all civil servants to keep politics outside the ministry premises.
Minister Shrestha said that the good work done during the tenure of former Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokhrel would be continued and the incomplete and wrong work would be adapted and implemented well.
Aiming at the fact that some members of the high-level National Education Commission formed by the government have voluntarily made the report of the commission public, he said that such work would not be done by him.
