Sugarcane farmers of Sarlahi have started a Kathmandu-centric agitation saying that the government's promise to collect the arrears from the sugar mill operator has not been fulfilled.
Demonstration has been started at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Sunday saying that the promise made by the government to collect the arrears from the sugar mill operator has not been fulfilled.
They have demanded the implementation of the five-point agreement reached with the government on December 3rd last year.
Rakesh Mishra, coordinator of the Sugarcane Farmers' Struggle Committee, said that no progress has been made in the last one year even though the farmers have to receive the arrears as per the repeated promises made by the government to the farmers.
They have warned to agitate infront of Singha Durbar and Baluwatar if they get6 unheard from Maitighar Mandal.
