The Great Sakya Monlam for Universal Peace And Harmony has begun from today. This event will continue for five days. Being is presided over by His Holiness the Gongma Trizin Rinpoche and His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin Rinpoche.
The great festival of making aspiration in Tibetan known as Monlam is live cast online due to special conditions created by a global pandemic. During Monlam, many prayers including Arya Bhadracharya prayer will be recited in Tibetan.
Sakya Monlam was organized for the long life of His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche and His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trizin Rinpoche and other Lamas who are upholding the legacy of Buddha Dharma.
Prayer starting from 28th December will last until 1st January. Starting daily at 7:45 and concluding around 3:45 pm. Every morning Tara puja and Parnashavari Mantra recitation is done for the pacification of pandemic.
On 28th December, Teaching on the Arya Bhadracarya Pranidhan Raja will be given by Holiness Sakya Trizin. The teaching will start Monday morning from 6:45 and will go on for half an hour.
On the occasion of New year and conclusion of five days Great Monlam, Long life offering will be bestowed to Holiness Sakya Gongma Trizin. For the conclusion of this great Sakya festival, Holiness Sakya Gongma Trizin will do final dedication gathering afternoon 3:35 with which this year's annual Monlam.
This year, The Great Sakya Monlam for Universal Peace & Harmony wasn't able to be held in holy sites of Buddha due to the current situation of spreading Covid 19 around the world. It is predicted that more than 3700 Sangha members will be performing the online Sakya Monlam.
Great Sakya Monlam Puja of past years was held in Lumbini and later in Bodhgaya, place of Buddha's birth and enlightenment respectively. 29th great Sakya Monlam for Universal peace and harmony can be attended through zoom online with his holiness and his eminence.
