Communist Party of Nepal Standing Committee member Devendra Poudel has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli must resign from the post of chairman or prime minister to resolve problems within party.
In an interview with Reporters Club Nepal on Thursday, Poudel made it clear that there would be no agreement other than leaving one post. According to Poudel, dispute will be resolved if Oli moves forward according to party's constitution and system.
Stating that CPN (Maoist) dispute has created a crisis situation, Poudel said that Oli should now take responsibility of resolving the issue. Poudel said that a solution to dispute would be found only by making report of both chairpersons a topic of discussion.
On another occasion, Poudel said that it was wrong for police to arrest senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel in Tanahu.
In an interview, Congress leader Deepak Khadka said agitation would not stop until Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal apologizes. Khadka said that both Oli and Badal should apologize for the arrest of senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel.
Stating that Congress will move forward together to preserve democratic values, Khadka said that there would be no problem for Congress to overthrow Rana and the King.
