Prime Minister KP Oli has made an ‘offer’ to appoint Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam as the party’s Chairman to resolve arising disputes within the ruling Nepal Communist Party.
Gautam discussed with 14 central members after getting proposal of NCP-Chairman from PM Oli and Chairman Dahal on Friday. Central Members suggested Gautam to move ahead with proposal only if it is accepted by Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
According to sources close to leader Nepal, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel had met Nepal and offered to become Chairman.
However, General Secretary Poudel, Standing Committee members Ghanshyam Bhushal, Pokharel, Yogesh Bhattarai and others have been discussing to appoint Gautam as party’s Chairman.
