Meeting of Secretariat of ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has been postponed till December 6.
Meeting was postponed after Prime Minister and party chairman KP Sharma Oli did not attend meeting held in Baluwatar on Wednesday. Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that next meeting will be convened on December 6 at 1 p.m.
In the meeting on Wednesday, it was said that discussion on political proposal submitted by party's executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and proposal submitted by chairman Oli, who is also prime minister, would continue.
After Oli was absent, other members of secretariat sat in the meeting for some time. Spokesperson Shrestha said that Chairman Oli was asked to attend next meeting.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist) Standing Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to December 7, said spokesperson Shrestha.
Earlier in the day, Oli had demanded a 10-day suspension of secretariat meeting. However, majority of secretariat members said meeting should not be stopped and Prachanda's proposal should be discussed.
After the dispute within CPN (Maoist) reached its climax, two chairpersons have submitted proposals to secretariat.
