Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma kumari Aryal has said that marketing of products is the major challenge.
Inaugurating Central Cooperative Market in Kathmandu on Friday with the support of Cooperative Market Development Program, Minister Aryal said that there was no problem of production at present and marketing of manufactured goods was the major challenge.
Minister Aryal said that marketing of goods produced by cooperatives is needed today. Stating that marketing of products is needed today, Minister Aryal said that it will be further expanded.
Minister Aryal said that cooperative market development program would play an important role in ending the situation where products produced by the farmers have to be dumped in the streets without finding a market. Minister Aryal said that cooperative market program was also suitable for addressing plight of farmers.
Central Cooperative Market, built by Agriculture-Seeds, Vegetables and Fruits Central Cooperative Union Limited with the support of 'Cooperative Market Development Program' run in collaboration with Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and UNDP, was inaugurated on Friday.
Program has been conducted with the cooperation of Government of Nepal and UNDP with 71 cooperatives of 18 municipalities in 6 districts of Bagmati Province.
