Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has mentioned that development work is being carried out to attract religious tourists from all over the world to Pashupati region.
Minister Bhattarai informed that ministry has formed a technical committee to finalize proposed master plan on the occasion of handing over eco-friendly crematorium jointly organized by Pashupati Area Development Fund and Everest Bank on Wednesday.
Committee has to submit a report to ministry within three months after discussing with concerned bodies including locals. Minister Bhattarai also informed that master plan would be taken forward only by assimilating the sentiments of locals.
Minister Bhattarai said that cabinet has decided to open religious and cultural heritage by adopting the method of health security.
It is said that bodies can be cremated in 100 to 150 kg of firewood in an environmentally friendly crematorium. Bank has constructed a crematorium at a cost of Rs 7.5 million and handed over the fund.
