Celebrating 26th Metropolitan Day on Monday

Kathmandu Metropolitan City is going to celebrate the 26th Metropolitan Day on Monday with various programs.

Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday, the metropolis informed that the day is being celebrated by announcing a rare 'Kidney Rescue Campaign'.

At the press conference, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Vidya Sundar Shakya informed that a 'Kidney Rescue Campaign' is being announced to spread the message that the potential risk of kidney disease can be avoided.

He said that he has been working in collaboration with community and government hospitals to run free hemodialysis services for the people of the metropolis with kidney problems, to set up oxygen plants, and to hand over PCR machines along with health supplies during the epidemic of Kovid-19.

According to the metropolis, 63 traditional guthis of Jyapu community, 60 guthis of Khadgi community and 23 groups of Gunla Baja will be released on the occasion of Indrajatra.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has been celebrating its foundation day every year on the basis of the day Kathmandu was declared as a metropolis on December 13, 1972, developing from the institutional organization for the sanitation.
