CPN (Maoist) standing committee meeting to be held on December 3

Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Oli is going to bring a separate proposal for discussion within the party.

At a meeting of secretariat held in Baluwatar on Wednesday, Oli, who is also prime minister, said that he would submit a separate proposal for discussion within party, said spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Spokesperson Shrestha informed that Oli has decided to present his proposal at secretariat meeting to be held on November 28 and both proposals submitted by Prachanda and Oli will be discussed.

Earlier, Oli's side was dissatisfied after Executive Chairman Prachanda submitted a 19-page proposal in support of the majority members at secretariat meeting. Resolution called for Oli to resign for failing to run the party and government.

Stating that Prachanda had submitted the proposal with serious allegations alone, Oli faction had said that the proposal should be withdrawn. However, as Prachanda was not ready to withdraw the proposal, Chairman Oli is also going to submit his proposal to secretariat.

Similarly, meeting has decided to convene a standing committee. According to spokesperson Shrestha, a meeting of standing committee will be held on December 3. Similarly, CPN (Maoist) Central Committee meeting scheduled earlier on November 30 has been postponed to December 10, spokesperson shrestha said.

Spokesperson Shrestha said that efforts would be made to find a way out by discussing all the proposals related to party's crisis and redressal.

Similarly, Spokesperson Shrestha said that President's discussion on the problems within party should not be misunderstood. Spokesperson Shrestha also clarified that there was no external interference in the meeting with Chinese ambassador and party dispute. There has been a dispute within CPN (Maoist) saying that Chairman Oli was alone in running party and government.
