Congress office bearers meeting begins

Opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has started discussions on the misunderstanding within party and recent political situation.

At a meeting of party leaders and office bearers held at party's office Sanepa on Monday, they discussed 16-point disagreement tabled by 27 central members including senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, convening a special session of parliament to discuss the impact of Covid and recent political situation.

Senior leader Poudel said that meeting of office bearers and former office bearers would also be held on Tuesday and concrete conclusions would be reached.

Central members of Poudel's party had submitted a letter of protest to party office with a 16-point disagreement saying that Deuba was trying to back away from holding general convention on time and not following the rules and regulations.

Mahat said that discussion has moved ahead to end misunderstanding within party before Central Committee meeting.

Mahat informed that Central Committee is preparing to pass the decisions taken by meeting. During meeting, Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba said that he was ready to discuss issues other than the formation of department.

A meeting of Central Working Committee has been convened on November 6 to discuss the preparations for upcoming 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress.
