Protests demanding repeal of MCC agreement

Twenty-one political organizations have staged a protest in Kathmandu's Maitighar Mandal demanding the repeal of US-backed MCC agreement.

On Thursday, 21 political organizations in Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu staged a protest demanding abolition of MCC. Protestors should repeal treasonous MCC agreement, provide free treatment for corona-infected patients, and prevent government from escaping its responsibilities.

The protesters carried placards demanding immediate withdrawal of the statement made by Home Minister against Left Alliance.

Similarly, government has warned to continue street agitation if the decision not to provide free treatment to Corona patients is not reversed.

Protestors said government's decision not to provide free treatment violated Article 35 of the constitution and the Supreme Court's order. Pari Thapa, a leader of 21 political organizations participating in the protest, accused government of trying to evade its responsibilities during Corona epidemic.

Protestors also accused government of watching Tulutu even though social workers were making arrangements to feed troubled citizens.

Parties including CPN-Masal, CPN-Maoist, CPN-ML, Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal, Deshbhakta Janaganatantrik Morcha, Communist Party of Nepal, CPN-Maoist Center and Rastriya Jagran Manch staged demonstrations under 21 political organizations.
